Vancouver to Victoria 150km SUP Expedition
Earlier this week, Dave Quinn, Kalum Ko and I paddled into Victoria Harbour – salty, sweaty, happy, and inspired after 5 days in the wild.
We’d paddled from Vancouver — Dave and KK in a double kayak, me on a Standup Paddle Board — to help raise awareness for CPAWS Big Wild Challenge initiative, and their campaign to strengthen marine protection in the Southern Georgia Strait.
There were a few lumpy, bumpy, windy moments that made paddling the SUP a challenge, but overall I felt fit and balanced.
The response to our trip was tremendous — and we achieved the our goal of 1000 Facebook Shares, which generated $2000 for CPAWS. Thanks to all for their support and encouragement.
The Times Colonist was there for our arrival, and the Van2VicSUP expedition even made front page news!
